Sir Plantin, a boutique hotel located in the Zurenborg district; famous for it's belle-epoque architecture and Art Nouveau scene, situated a mere 10 minute walk from the Centraal Station, boasts a coveted position as well as a striking interior. We were warmly welcomed by the hotel manger, he gave us a brief but thorough introduction and also offered some tips on eating and drinking in the area.
As you can see, they meant what they said about the breakfast being more like a banquet, a feast for all with everything you could possibly want for a hearty morning meal.
The rooms are stunning and perfectly sized for two, the charming old meets new decor is refreshing and decadent. The rooms and bathrooms entirely spotless, the sheets crisp and neat and the communal areas softly lit and cozy, the perfect place to relax.
The rooms are decorated in one of five themes, each with it's own colour (purple, red, yellow, orange, green) The green Queen Elizabeth being my own.
As well as being beautiful, it is luxurious, comfortable and immactualte. The staff are pleasant and helpful and will definitely be a favoured spot to return to should I be staying in Antwerp again.
