Richard Söderberg ~ OBSCUR

The S/S 2011 collection from Obscur is inspired by misty landscapes, the roughness of nature and enveloping clouds, where the garments were constructed out of washed lamb leather. Using crude materials combined with varying pieces both in length and volume, their detailing lies in zippers and pockets whilst raw edges are paired with qualitative materials, subtle linings, comfortable knits and rich textures.
With the fog we have been having recently I felt this beautiful collection and stunning imagery from the lookbook would be rather fitting.
Check out more from Obscur on their website~ there are more gorgeous lookbooks from past collections; definatley worth a gander.

Christmas Eve

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

PHOTOGRAPHY/STEVEN PAN. STYLING/ELIN SVAHN.

Having recently been taken to the lovely little Aubin Cinema by my wonderful boyfriend to see Sofia Coppola's new film 'Somewhere'; I am now in love with the beautiful Elle Fanning.
I have always loved her sister Dakota,I think they are both such stunning girls and have a wonderful grown up attitude towards their work.

You can see the full interview with Elle from Interview Magazine here.
Definatley check it out because there is also a lovely little video from behind the scenes of the shoot.
The photography here is flawless and Elle looks so chic and elegant but still like a young girl which I think is important as she is only 12.

Elle is very talented and you can see from one of my favourite scenes in the film where she does a full skating routine. Aside from acting she has a passion for ballet and when not filming she trains 5 days a week.
So having already done such high profile fims as 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', 'Deja Vu', 'Babel' and 'Reservation Road' she is definatley an actress to watch out for.

To Lee, with love, Nick

This tribute video created by SHOWstudio's Nick Knight is not only beutiful but extremley powerful and full of emotion.
Screened last night at the British Fashion Awards I'm positive the film captured the audience and reminded everyone of the great British designer Lee Alexander McQueen.

Vogue Italia / Kate Moss / Nick Knight / Edward Eninnful

Gorgeous editorial featuring Kate Moss for the December issue of Vogue Italia.
Photographed by the fantastical Nick Knight and Styled by I-D's amazing Edward Enninful;
I love how it has been shot and I really like how it's been made to look like stills from a film, the building site setting is great and I particularly like the shot where you see Kate in the hole. I adore the way it has been laid out on the pages with muliple images on some pages revealing more detail.
Kate looks as stunning as ever and looks beautiful as a brunette, what I love about Kate as I'm sure why everyone else does too is because of her versatility in photographs, I enjoyed looking through this editorial and seeing her going from looking like an innocent young girl to an older beautiful Italian woman to looking like Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Snow Day

Fur & Wool Hat/Beyond Retro. Bag/Vivienne Westwood. Thigh High Suede Boots/eBay. Fur Coat/Vintage. Leather Gloves/Aquascutum.

So it's now absolutley freezing and getting harder to dress well when you are wearing so many layers you look like a marshmallow, but with a huge fur coat to hand it looks like I might be alright for winter...
I'm seriously loving my new hat it is so warm and I won't be braving the outdoors without it from now on. The boots look impractical but actually are very warm, I say this now but I havent slipped over in them yet...
